Top Hat & Tales: January 2007 Edition 
2007 has started with a bang and Top Hat is busting at the seams with excitement and energy. The word of the month is NEW! January has brought a NEW Year, a NEW website, a NEW building, and a great list of NEW ways of spreading the joy of dancing. Be sure to read through this newsletter to learn more about all of the wonderful changes that are taking place at the NEW Top Hat Dance Studio.

Our Grand Opening Party
After several months of dedicated work, our incredible team of friends, family, volunteers, and 
contractors has given us a new and improved space to dance in. To celebrate this momentous occasion we would like to invite you to the Grand Opening of our Bustleton Avenue location. This festive event will take place on Saturday, January 27th, 2007 and EVERYONE is welcome. Please join us in opening our new home with a bang! The evening will begin at 7:00pm with a Cocktail Open House where mixed fare and beverages will be provided. This is an excellent time to come and see the new location and help us toast the beginning of a new era. Then immediately following the cocktail open house, at roughly 8:30pm, we welcome you to join us for the first dance party on our new beautiful floating hardwood floor. Through out the evening you can look forward to dancing to all of your favorite dances ranging from Ballroom, Latin, Swing, Salsa, and Hustle. As the night progresses, the music will turn its focus to a California Mix of Hustle, Salsa, and Swing. This Party promises to go into the early hours of the morning so come prepared to DANCE!!
Our new location is at 10771 Bustleton Avenue, Philadelphia, Pa 19116 in the Bustleton Somerton Shopping Center. Directions can be found on our website at www.tophatdancestudio.com. Please come dressed to impress and if you would like to bring a beverage of your choice that would be great. The cost of the evening is absolutely FREE and we hope that you are able to attend and help us bring in the New Year in our New Space! See you on the 27th!
Introducing our ‘Footsteps on the Floor’ Program
With the construction of our new home seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, we would like to 
introduce a way for you to become a part of this momentous and heartfelt occasion. ‘Footsteps on the Floor’ is a donation based program that will enable all of the friends and family of Top Hat Dance Studio to have their footsteps left on the dance floors at Top Hat for a lifetime. The new dance floor at Top Hat Dance Studio is a new top of the line floating hardwood floor exactly like the one seen on TV’s Dancing with the Stars, and we would like to offer you the chance to be a part of bringing this beautiful new floor to the Philadelphia area.
A number of people have donated their professional services as part of the construction process. Others have asked how they can make a monetary donation to the project. In response to this request, Top Hat has created a new donation program called "Footsteps on the Floor".
The motivation for the name comes from the state-of-the-art, solid hardwood floating floor currently being installed in the studio. A scale drawing of our hardwood dance floor has been overlaid on a plaque that will hang on our "Dance of Fame" hallway in the studio. Each person who makes a construction donation will have their name engraved on the section of the floor in which they have sponsored. For those of you who would like to sponsor multiples tiles, a single entry of your name will cover the multiple tiles on the plaque which you have sponsored. Tile donations can be made in increments of $75.00. In appreciation for your generous gift to Top Hat Dance Studio you will receive a Top Hat Dance Studio t-shirt as a sign of thanks. Introducing our NEW Website!
If you have visited www.tophatdancestudio.comin the past couple of weeks, then you’ve noticed that we have developed our new and improved, fully interactive website. From this new website you can view our monthly calendars for the Philadelphia, Lancaster, and Ballet classes; view online photos from past Top Hat Happenings; post and share your own digital photos with all of your Top Hat friends; and take advantage of our new online forum that enables you to chat with the students, staff, and other members of our new online community. We are ecstatic about this new addition to the studio and we hope that you take a second to visit the site and check out all of the many new features that are available. Some of the features (such as posting photos and forum submissions) require a username and password. You can obtain a username and password online free of charge. This new site is one more way we are trying to bring a bigger and better Top Hat to all of you, enjoy!! January Studio Schedule
Philadelphia:
Classes will run to schedule for the month of January. The Basic Ballroom 1 & 2 classes on Wednesday nights will begin their new session on Wednesday, January 10, 2007. The new dance in BB1 will be Foxtrot and BB2 will continue with Samba. Our Grand Opening Party will be held on Saturday, January 27, 2007 starting at 7:00pm (please see above for details).
The Fall Semester for our Ballet School Program will end on January 28th. Look for details on the start of our spring semester, beginning on January 31st, in next month’s newsletter.
For all other class schedules and cancellations you can pick up a calendar at the studio or visit our website at www.tophatdancestudio.com.
Lancaster:
Classes will run to schedule for the month of January. The monthly studio party will resume on the 4th Friday of the month which this month is Friday, January 26th, 2007. There will be a group class at 8:00pm and the party will immediately follow at 9:00pm.
