Top Hat & Tales: May 2008 Edition
Dear Top Hat,
May is here and along with it comes the beginning of a summer full of dancing at Top Hat. The most exciting event that comes with the advent of summer is our annual recital for our Youth Program. All of the students have worked very hard all year long and it is a great joy to watch them show all of their friends and families the fruits of their labors. Read of for more information about Top Hat's Summer Showcase taking place on Sunday, June 8th at 2:00pm.
Several weeks ago Top Hat Dance Studio participated in the Philadelphia Festival Dancesport Championships at the Airport Marriott in Philadelphia. To say that the event was a success would be a terrible understatement. The dancing was superb, the competition was fierce, and Top Hat students danced up a storm at this year's event. A huge congratulations to all of the dancers who competed at the Philly Festival, you should be very proud of your accomplishments, you represented Top Hat beautifully and helped to make the event one to remember. Most of the pictures included in this month's newsletter are from this year's Philadelphia Festival...enjoy.
 Congratulations are also in order to Top Hat's own Daniel McGee and Jameson Kilburn for both receiving Top Teacher awards at this year's festival. Also, Top Hat Dance Studio was honored by Sandy and Andy Fortuna with the Philly Festival "Top Studio Award." This huge accomplishment is the direct result of all of the hard work of the students, staff, and dancers of Top Hat Dance Studio. Congratulations to you all, job well done!! Thank you to Sandy and Andy Fortuna for organizing such a wonderful event.
More celebrations are called for after the results of this year's International Hustle & Salsa Competition were announced. This year Top Hat Teacher Joe Kerner, along with his partner Stephanie, took 1st place in the Professional Just Hustle division. This is a huge accomplishment and we're very proud of Joe, congrats! Also at this year's event in Miami, Top Hat's very own Daniel McGee and Ginny Carey performed their new routine "A Question of Honor" in the World Professional Championships and took 3rd place in a very heavily contested division. Way to go Joe, Daniel, & Ginny.
