In 1995, Top Hat Dance Studio was founded on the talents and dreams of 2 people - Daniel McGee and Allen Anderson. They believe that Ballroom Dancing should be enjoyed by people of all ages and walks of life. With this belief, they built Top Hat Dance Studio to be a place where people can find a great learning atmosphere, a wonderful social gathering for dancers, and an overall fun experience that doesn't involve contracts or outrageous prices.
Top Hat Dance Studio rose to become the #1 dance studio in Philadelphia and has won many awards, including winning Top Studio for 5 out of the last 6 years. They moved to their current location in 1997. Since their Grand Re-Opening, they have grown to include many forms of dance including ballroom, latin, social, ballet, flamenco and more. The staff has also grown to include a talented cast of dancers and instructors who strive to give their students the best dancing experience possible.
In 2000, Top Hat Dance Studio expanded into Lancaster, Pennsylvania and has enjoyed a warm welcome in that area. Their staff and students can be seen teaching and dancing at various venues and performances throughout Lancaster County.
In September 2002, Top Hat Dance Studio was proud to announce the Grand Opening of the Top Hat Dance Studio School of Ballet. The school is located in the NE Philadelphia school, and is devoted to the development of ballet and creative movement in children and adults. With the combined efforts of our dedicated staff and schools, Top Hat Dance Studio strives to bring the art of dance to everyone.
In September 2006, Daniel McGee, Jameson Kilburn, and Robert Finocchio created, Top Hat Enterprises, LLC which operates under the name of Top Hat Dance Studio. Top Hat Dance Studio of Philadelphia moved to a new location in January 2007. The new studio is located at 10771 Bustleton Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19116 and Top Hat Dance Studio of Lancaster is located at 110 South Railroad Ave, New Holland, PA 17557.
